The portrait of Mary Amarant was painted by Violet Teague. Although undated by the artist herself, it bears an inscription in the upper righthand corner, "Easter 1916". In the opposite corner a similar inscription reads "Mary Amarant". The oil painting is mounted on a carved wooden frame painted in a golden tone and measures 74x64 cm. It is currently owned by the Talbot family of Moonee Ponds who are related to Josephine Amarant. It is believed the brooch Mary is wearing in the portrait is now with the Landsborough Historical Society.
